Fall Creek Falls has a low of -8° and a high of only 8°.ġ886- A winter storm system ushers in one of the worst cold outbreaks in mid state history. The NWS Nashville office in Old Hickory sees a low of -1°, while Crossville drops down to -9°. Some snowfall totals include Lawrenceburg, with 10", Nashville, 8.1", and Crossville, 6".Ģ014- A bitterly cold Arctic airmass brings light snow and record cold temperatures to Middle Tennessee. Crossville measures 8" of snow, while Tullahoma reports 7.9", and Nashville, 7.3".ġ910- A winter storm buries Clarksville under 12" of snow, a single-day record there.ġ946- The Harpeth River at Kingston Springs reaches its highest stage to date - 32.2', which is 17.2' above flood stage.ġ988- A snowstorm brings widespread accumulation to the mid state. The mobile home is thrown 100 feet, and one man inside the mobile home is killed instantly. Elsewhere, Clarksville reports 71 degrees, Springfield, 69, Tullahoma, 68, Crossville, Lawrenceburg, and Murfreesboro, 66.ġ997- Strong thunderstorm winds (likely a tornado) estimated near 110 mph pick up a mobile home 5 miles east of Erin (Houston County) and wrap it around a tree. At Nashville, the high temperature reaches 72 degrees, with a low of 61. Grocery shopping in some cases is done Venetian style - by rowboat.ġ964- New Year's Day storm sets single day snowfall records in several locations, including Lawrenceburg, with 16", Waynesboro, 15½", Columbia and Mount Pleasant (1 N), 15", Lewisburg, 12½", Pulaski, 11½", Centerville and Neapolis, 11", Lebanon (7 N), Linden, and Old Hickory Dam, 10", and Shelbyville, 9".ġ904- A powerful cold front dunks Nashville's temperature 46 degrees, from a daytime high of 59 degrees, to a low of 13 the following morning.Ģ000- A very pleasant, almost spring-like day settles over the mid state. Water reaches as far inland as 3 rd Avenue. One young man, whose Old Hickory girlfriend lives ½-mile across the river, has to drive 110 miles around the flooded area to get to her. Two persons are killed and 10,400 are left homeless. Our goal is to make this exhibit ADA accessible so that all of the Museum’s visitors have the chance to come aboard.Calendar of Significant Weather Events in Middle Tennessee January 1ġ918- Dickson receives its greatest snowstorm ever, with an accumulation of 15".ġ927- The Cumberland River at Nashville crests at a record 56.2' - 16.2' above flood stage - in the "Great Flood of 1927." The river swells to 3 miles wide at one point. With the generous support of Top Speed Data Communications, a valued partner of the Museum based in Petaluma that specializes in voice, data and wireless services, PCAM will develop an exhibit that allows Museum visitors to see inside this piece of aviation history. The Museum plans to have the aircraft on display as early as May 1, 2016. Jetstar N377SA was manufactured in 1978, has been privately owned and operated for private business transportation and is being donated to the Museum after its final flight. It is a relatively large business jet that seats up to 10 passengers and a crew of two pilots and one flight attendant. ![]() The Jetstar has the distinction of being the first dedicated business jet to enter service, was capable of cruising at over 500 mph and had a range of nearly 3,000 miles. The Jetstar is an executive business jet produced in the 1960s and 1970s by Lockheed Corporation (originally the Lockheed Aircraft Manufacturing Company). The aircraft was showcased at a reception at Sonoma Jet Center on Saturday morning and is now on display at the Museum. Lockheed Jetstar business jet #5229 (N377SA) arrived at the Pacific Coast Air Museum on Saturday Apas the newest addition to the Museum’s collection.
